We were 1 hour late at our destination. One family came to help rebuild devastated houses in the area, I donated 40 $. I wanted to buy a ticket for the night bus to Mandalay, not possible for foreigners. Checked all options and decided to stay overnight here and take the morning bus to Bagan, 50k MMK or 21€. I also took a night bus to Yangon day later 40k MMK or 16,8€. Went to the bank to change money. Took room at Gypsy inn, 12 $.

The guide picked me up and took me on a boat tour, 65k MMK or 27.3€. First 15 minutes over the river to the lake, and then crossing the lake. Interesting were floating gardens with growing tomatoes, pumpkins, … We saw many destroyed houses. We visited a textile factory, bought a shawl for 30k MMK or 12,6€, jewelry making, 70k MMK or 29,4€, cigar making, 10k MMK or 4,2€, restaurant 28k MMK or 11,8€. There, I got sick. Stupa was closed, monastery in renewal, more shops – longneck lady. Nowhere was crowded, like they had holidays?
I was dehydrated, in the room I lay down under the AC, and bought some lotion for sunburns. Later, I realized I had sunstroke. Not a good night
